I have officially been working at BlinkJar for a month, and I can truly say that I am so thankful to be here learning under such an incredible team. I have felt supported and challenged in my new role and I feel like I am receiving the tools necessary to be successful.
When it came to inbound marketing, my understanding of it was somewhat there, but I had no gauge for the term and just how powerful it can be to the success of a business.
I think one of my main takeaways is the realization that marketing is a continually evolving field. From one day to the next, a search engine algorithm can change or a new feature could be available on a social media platform. With constant change, you have to learn to change with it. There are always new things to try and learn, and I love that. You are not stuck doing the exact same thing every day.
With everyone playing a different role at BlinkJar, I have enjoyed seeing how each person brings something to the table. You have several people working on several different pieces of the inbound marketing puzzle like facebook ads, blogs, or social media management, it all comes together to create a robust marketing plan for a business, where everyone’s efforts are positively working with each other.
With managing a number of different accounts. It has been a fun challenge to learn how to write for each of them. They all are promoting different services/products, reaching different demographics, locations, and more. Understanding a business’ persona has been helpful when beginning to schedule out all of their social media content. I have spent a lot of time researching each of our clients and asking questions like-- Who owns the business? Who works there? What services do they provide? Who are they trying to reach? What type of voice do they have…serious, funny, punny? The list goes on!
As a piece of inbound marketing, I have found that you have to stay on your toes with social media platforms. New features and algorithms can change everything, along with the basics like weather and world events. For example, you don’t want to have a scheduled post about eating at a restaurant outside if it is storming! You have to make sure the content you are posting is accurate for the day it is being posted and so on.
Something I am looking forward to at BlinkJar: I am excited to learn and grow my knowledge about other facets of inbound marketing including SEO, Facebook ads, and blogs. Just to name a few. Not only is there an opportunity for me to grow as a social media coordinator, but the BlinkJar team has made it clear that there is room for me to learn more areas of the company, which continues to help me be a stronger inbound marketer and member of the team. I truly do feel like the sky’s the limit when it comes to working here, and I am excited for all that is to come!
