5 Incredibly Useful Inbound Marketing Tools

Lindsey Blanchard • March 29, 2022

With over a decade in the inbound marketing industry, we have had our fair share of experience with various marketing tools and platforms. Some we’ve been using since the very beginning. Others are fairly new additions to our repertoire. In this industry, change is a constant. New software to simplify some element of the marketing process is always being introduced, and we’re open to trying any of them if a need exists. Inevitably, some will fall by the wayside, but there are more than a few that we have come to rely on every single day. The following five are far from a complete list of the platforms we use, but they are some of our absolute favorites. Allow us to explain why. Click any of the names below to learn more.

HubSpot | SEMrush | Duda | Loom | Canva

HubSpot

What is it?

The OG inbound marketing platform. They even coined the term “inbound marketing” and host a massive Inbound conference every year. Over their many years in the inbound marketing game, their platform has grown tremendously. Today, you can accomplish nearly any marketing task within HubSpot, and when you can’t, there is a likely an integration available from one of their many partners to make it possible.

Why We Love it

The analytic capabilities of HubSpot are unsurpassed. It makes in-depth tracking of website traffic and leads seamless and easily allows users to create campaigns for detailed analytics of digital campaigns from Google Ads to Facebook. The charts are easy to interpret, and custom reporting and dashboard options make it ridiculously simple to check your most critical data at a glance. Among our other most-used features are the CRM and email marketing tools.

SEMrush

What is it?

Another multi-functional inbound marketing and reporting tool, SEMrush shines in its SEO capabilities. The platform includes features like site audits, position tracking, keyword research, and local search listing management along with a lengthy list of additional marketing elements.

Why We Love it

When it comes to monitoring and managing your site’s SEO and search performance, SEMrush is unmatched. The site audit tool delivers a quick site health score and areas for improvement broken down by the severity of their impact on your website. This allows us to make quick changes on a site that will have maximum impact on its SEO performance. Meanwhile, the position tracking tool offers a visual representation of our efforts, showing a client’s growth in search for any given keyword over time and in comparison to their most important competitors. It’s a great feeling when you can visually illustrate a large jump in search rankings for a client’s most important keywords.

Duda

What is it?

This easy-to-use website hosting platform is quickly becoming a favorite thanks to its user-friendly interface and prioritization of site speed and Google’s Core Web Vitals.

Why We Love it

Duda makes web design incredibly easy for every skill level. No-code, drag-and-drop widgets allow users to quickly piece together a visually appealing, high-functioning web page in a matter of minutes. We particularly love that we can rely on our Duda sites to load quickly, increasing search ability and reducing bounce rate, and that outages on the platform are rare.

Loom

What is it?

This video sharing platform allows users to record their screen, camera, or both and quickly share the video with anyone they choose. It also includes features like video trimming, commenting, video replies, and including a call-to-action.

Why We Love it

In a largely virtual world, Loom is the platform we never knew we needed. It has made communication between team members and clients easier than ever. We use the platform to review metrics for clients and send along with their PDF reports in email. We use it to provide quick tutorials or to give marketing tips in our TipJar series. The feedback we have received from clients is impressive to say the least. They love having a video explanation that breaks down the numbers, jargon, or steps in a process, that they can save for future reference, and that can be passed along to others. When we can’t be there in person, we find that Loom is often the next best thing.

Canva

What is it?

Canva is a graphic design platform that has boomed in popularity thanks to its robust features, many of which are free to use.

Why We Love it

Canva allows us to easily create graphics, animations, and videos in any size with the ability to implement an overwhelming number of design elements including fonts, images, and illustrations. We can select from pre-designed templates or create our own from scratch. We can add animation, audio, and remove the backgrounds from our photos with the click of a button, and brand kits complete with fonts, colors, and logos can be saved to make sure that every piece we create abides by a client’s brand guidelines.
